Thursday Thoughts September 1
I can't believe that we have just completed the first month of school. For some of us it has flown by and for others it has dragged on..lol. Regardless, we made it to Labor Day! It is my hope that you spend the long weekend doing something fun, relaxing and non-school related. As hard as we work, it is even more important to play just as hard. I can't begin to thank you for a phenomenal start to the school year. Quite frankly, it has been the best school start that I have had as an administrator. To kick off a stress free weekend, please join me in the front of the school tomorrow at 2:45pm to grab a sweet treat. It is only fitting that we end our first month of school with a visit from the ice cream truck. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM (and a long weekend)!
Staff Spotlight
This week I would like to shine the spotlight on English Avery. English has been a part of our school community for over 20 years and she continues to search for ways to make Medlock the best place to teach and learn. She has taken on the task of putting the finishing touches on our building renovation. She spruced up our new front office conference room and is working on a design for our hallways and room 131. She is doing this while tackling a new support position for the County. She travels to different schools and supports Art teachers throughout our learning community. On top of all of this, she continues to serve on our leadership team and advocates for a group of staff members that can be often overlooked. English is wearing many hats this year, however her main priority continues to be the students. English we are thankful for your creativity and your dedication to our students and staff.
